what else then doodles?

      first of all if you don't know already  OKAT  founder and editor of  doodlersanonymus.com is having an open call for "coloring book" volume II !
the submissions are open to anyone for one black/white drawing-doodle.i thought i may try even if i don't have too much chance :).i've took an insight of coloring book nr.I and i was way too pleased with the outcome!

now,this is also my entry for Show and tell on Saturday #16 running over at artistsinblogland  and a little question for you if you would be so kind taking the time.
i drew two pages now i can't choose which one to enter ...maybe you'll help me...i would love to hear your opinions...
the first one based on one of my "serial" -marine atc's and second, a mask doodle- as i named it -being an ordinary "healing" doodle,lol...
both of doodles are 22cm/29cm  ( 8.5"/11") a new challenge for me regarding the size.
the mask doodle had a color call for me i couldn't resist...it was very relaxing ...way to relaxing...luckily my husband awakened me just in time to go.... i started two of my mornings before i went to work alike and i felt loaded with positive energy for all day.

upcycled gift tags

just playing around with these little gift tags good for many occasions...
still hanging on embossing lol and upsycling as much as it's tasteful i hope ;)
no cardboard and tin can is safe around me these days...

 the little elephant was designed without the hearts unfortunately the metal sticks very very hard to the cardboard and when it does unwanted smudgy part reveals that needs to be covered.quite love the elephant baby..i couldn't make another example the same....

these last doodle is just a face sample but she wanted to be here........

embossed tin can and "soul"...

what i'm going to show you it's my latest discovery wherewith i'm feeding lately my capricious soul .
always hungry for something new,always in hurry easily vulnerable this time related to my paper mache"researches" i was trying out a new technique which could improve my embossed design skills on paper.
looking for examples on the web i came across something totally  new for me-embossing metal.then a lovely tutorial on youtube by atomicshrimp called "drink can tinwork"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7vXNLpVafM
i was very happy having all the "ingredients"in hands- my husbands empty beer can, ball point pen and some precious time to try it out instantly.it was no success as probably our metal cup is too weak and broken when turned into the box shape.
at the same time i found Anjie's lovely blog where i could learn a bit more about embossing and the Mexican's tin can art thanks to her tutorial.i will show the picture of her metal bird and some colorful examples of the Mexican's tin cup art as she was very kind to allow me to use them in this post.
beside this her blog is full with awesome tutorials you may be tempted to try out.

 SOUL ~being this months theme at  www.artistsinblogland.blogspot.com my little doodles on these upcycled tin cans are my flickering "embossed soul" this time on metal :).
this technique combines my love for doodling,pattern designing,creating something new,recycling and playing.hope you'll enjoy my little cards...

ps-the first card is also upscycled -made on good quality cardboard coming from my boys toy wrap.

reasons to be happy

it happened today evening when i checked the news at artistsinblogland.blogspot.com and i went my eye at the newly made banner.i never had such of the kind wonderful online surprises to see one of my doodled postcards being in the headline.i stood a few seconds stunned then melted in joy and gratitude for Marcia and Annie who did great job with the new header and made me so so proud!
