I beleive art is healing.when I draw I relax. I'm happy when a doodle is finished. Then I start a new one.no frustrations.this active relax recently is my main summer "spare-time"activity.Just pencils and paper.Taken everywhere.

doodle postcard V.

this is the latest finished funny bunny postcard unfortunately the scanner didn't pick up the soft blue color(it is shown better on the photos).now that i'm processing the images i saw other forms that could have came to life if wouldn't have turned the doodle upside down,lol...there are always more choices.

this was made almost with one move-see the picture above:the line marked with red was the dominant one, followed by the green and orange.then i turned the paper and quickly added a little detail that sealed the destiny(lol)of this postcard.

everything went very quick until this point...then i had a lack of inspiration that was solved a day after so i could happily finish the card.this last image shows how everything could have been different if the bunny ears wouldn't be so obvious to me that night.

happy doodling and Christmas preparations!...................................................ildi

Show and Tell Saturday #15

this week's review ...a bunch of new doodle postcards that was so much fun to do....i almost forgot how happy doodling makes me.all my doodles are happy this week.the first one presented is actually the latest that was born yesterday.i'll show the process later with a new post.
this first one showed has a little story to tell if you haven't guessed already,lol....
two little elves were fighting over a giant shell where the rain was locked by a spell.you can see that only black drops were falling from the clouds.in their great struggle they didn't observed the big ripe pepper rolling between them.they also were absent to a funny heat dangerous crocodile approach.the red hair fairy who came out unsuspected from that big pepper was lucky to snatch it from their greedy hands and save the day and the days are coming form now on.

doodle postcard III

because i always love seeing the creation process especially in art works but as well regarding garden and home projects i thought i'll add a few pictures to show you the way i play with lines and formes.
this is  my ordinary way of doodling only that i borrowed the string from the zentangle.so the base is the string and the rest is added step by step as the doodle develops.in my first colored doodles the core is commonly a face or a form that is growing chaotic by adding other forms or patterns.

the result entitled "the bubble escapes"(i just missed to draw the eye of the whale)
and the process:

material used:300gsm fabriano watercolor paper,watercolor pencil,marker.

continuing the postcard series

well, thanks for the visits and thank you for the comment Pia  :)
now you would have to find even more hidden creatures between today's morning line work.
it was quite unusual as i'm mostly a late night doodler but i must confess that it felt even better knowing that there's food in fridge, the kids are all right(the little one stood home with me and was watching "the course of the  were rabbit" lol at that time) and everything else can wait...now my elder one is also home and engaged in a similar doodle, lol.i told you it was contagious!i'll upload his artwork too when ready ;)

your fingers may not be enough for counting them, lol, luckily we have some toes too

our creative week

school has begun.my elder son started waking me up before 7 hehe,my little one is crying his way out to the kindergarten and i begin working on Monday.i just polished my violin and set down for a short post to show you what we'd been doing(my son and i) the last week.
i proposed  my first time school boy to help me with a pencil case project.he gladly accepted the task and very soon his drawing laid on the canvas.i just had to paint it with acrylics and sew it.i must tell you i'm not familiar with that machine.the outcome was a bit different as the way i planned but we both were happy with it.the pictures are a bit shinny as the whole case is wrapped with protective film.
we both were curious about the feedback as it wasn't a bought regular fancy case.soon the waited feedback arrived wrapped in the following sentence-i don't like your pencil case!i must say that he is attending an art(music and arts) school and that coming from their first grade teacher.i would have many to say about that but i just say DOT.

still i continued the "case" project and quickly(well not as quickly as i'm writing it lol) came out a girlish one.

at the end i had some left over colors that had been splashed on a 15/15 canvas.it was very nice to play with it even if the result is weak.i had great time and sure will repeat it but first i have to finish some paper mache rose pins.

have a great creative week!

show and tell us what you have been working on as i saw it at:

#19 William Morris + inchies

hello!
finally i took the plunge to post some old doodles.as you see i got stuck somewhere at challenge 19 .
i still have some little drawings in atc format to show but it seams that time is not on my side.as we travel a lot in summer time to places where the virtual world is totally absent i always find difficult the coming backs.
beside these things i dedicate my little spare time to paper mache right now.it is good to have at least two hobbies you can jump form one to another when felling bored or overwhelmed.i'm having the paper period but as i start commenting again means that i am attracted slowly back to the black side of the moon ,lol.i'm exited then by the wide and various artistic material my tentacles reaches and my appetite groves again for taking the pencil instead of the paper pulp.
meanwhile i've opened an etsy shop ,finished a commissioned paper mache mirror -click here-or -here-and about 12 pairs of earrings, one bracelet,4 mini woodland creatures and started to paint a pm bowl.
that being said here are my little contributions:

see you, have a wonderful summer time!

mooka challenge

Laura Harms's last week challenge was to try out a new official tangle called Mooka.as i noticed everybody loved mooking around, including myself even if i was a bit distracted by my paper beads.i fancy some and had to make a few-click here if you wish to see them-,plus i have a paper mache mirror commissioned work so i had less time for doodling.i couldn't resist mooka,it is my type of tangle i like as it swirls and tangles around,so here are my doodles-the first one a very fast "real" doodle i was talking while i made it, and a second one that got printed and colored also(not contented about the color choose though)...
all the bests and thanks for stopping by!

we have a winner!

first of all thank you everyone who participated in my first mini giveaway !here i'm showing you how things were going for the winners selection.yesterday evening i posted challenge nr14 and 15 in a big rush as i was alone with the kids.i didn't noticed "embracing tao"'s entry in the giveaway.i made the preparations -i mean wrote down everyones name on a piece of paper then my son picked up one.you can see here yesterday evenings genuine picture series and the lucky winner of yesterday night.

BUT !!!!!!!!!!today in the morning i sad i must give a chance to "embracing tao" also because it was only my fault, she did right..i wrote down her name too and we made another drawing.

i mixed well the slips of paper and guess what, the winner was Pia for the second time!!!.i was very amused.i didn't took pictures, had no time for that as my son and his dad were going in a trip with the car to Cluj.
now i could announce laud and unequivocal  that the winner is PIA over at liquidbrick.blogspot.com !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!congrats Pia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as this weren't enough i sad to my son just for my fun to choose a number between 1to 13.he choose 10,LOL,Pia again! the stars were all for you Pia! i will send you the card on Monday!

please don't be dissapointed i plan to make every month a giveaway and i trade mostly all the time!
wish you all the bests, friends!

my nr. 14 and nr. 15

of course responses to Laura Harms weekly challenge. see here how i walk the line and love my curves.initially i felt sorry for adding colors to nr15th challenge but then i begun to like the little round stegosaurus.although i seldom use lines in my doodles still i had a lapse followed by on ooups when i traced the first line on the curvy  challenge.corrected.still if i'm very exacting i can say i failed the challenge,lol...

and another thing.i wasn't really satisfied with my line walk either, even had a moment when i asked myself "what ,can't you trace a straight line with your exercised hand ? however what i loved was the "lettuce" inspiration.see the middle part -spiral with triangles( ch.nr14),i made it spontaneously well.then i wanted to repeat but didn't succeeded... maybe another time,i found that very very challenging :).nature is a colossal source of inspiration and kitchen is the place where magic happens isn't it?look what i found before i made a lettuce soup about three days ago...don't ask me,we run out of that soup already :)

have a nice evening!
